Stanley Adapts to New York Life After Impactful Islanders Debut

Logan Stanley is experiencing a rapid assimilation into his new life with the New York Islanders, a whirlwind that has included a swift contract signing, an impactful debut, and a taste of the local cost of living.
Just over a week after signing a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Islanders, Stanley has quickly made his presence felt on the ice. In his second game with the team, following a stint with Buffalo last season, the defenseman recorded two assists and three blocked shots in a decisive 6-0 shutout victory over the New Jersey Devils at UBS Arena. He also tied for a team high with four hits in that game.
"I thought he was really good," Islanders head coach Pete DeBoer commented on Stanley's performance. "I think he’s gotten better every time out. He’s a big man, he moves well, he’s got good puck skills, good teammate, not much not to like."
Stanley, who spent most of his career in Canada and is accustomed to life in Winnipeg, described his first impressions of Long Island. "I took a drive [Sunday] and was checking out some neighborhoods and it’s beautiful," he said. "A little busier than Winnipeg."
His introduction to the city included a moment of humorous sticker shock after purchasing coffee. "I think it cost me like nine dollars," Stanley remarked with a smile, acknowledging the
