Superagent Scott Boras suggested that Stan Kroenke's impending purchase of a controlling interest in the Los Angeles Angels could significantly enhance the team's allure to free agents, citing Kroenke's history of success across various professional sports. Boras noted that Kroenke's commitment to acquiring elite talent and allowing his experts to manage franchises has led to championships with teams like the Rams, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Arsenal.

"The precedent of the owner and who he is and what he’s done, the storyline is completely different for players," Boras told the Orange County Register. "His wealth is completely different."

This perspective is shared by Angels star Mike Trout, who commented that Kroenke "wins wherever he buys." Boras's own history with the Angels includes negotiating a seven-year, $245 million contract for Anthony Rendon with owner Arte Moreno after the 2019 season. Boras also currently represents Angels pitcher Yusei Kikuchi.

Kroenke's multi-sport ownership group has recently celebrated championships in football, basketball, hockey, and soccer. Boras, who primarily focuses on baseball, indicated that this broad success could translate into a more desirable environment for players considering joining the Angels. He described Kroenke as "kind of an ideal owner" and believes the owner's reputation could start changing the perception of the Angels as a destination associated with winning, even before significant financial commitments are made.
