Stalker Who Claimed Tycoon's Love Child Found Guilty

A man was found guilty of stalking a TV and fashion tycoon for more than ten years, during which time he persistently claimed she had secretly given birth to his child. Robert McQueen began sending Heather Dixon a barrage of social media messages and emails nearly 30 years after a brief encounter.

McQueen, 62, also contacted Dixon's niece, Olivia Dixon, claiming he was her father due to shared features, despite the niece being too young for this to be biologically possible. Heather Dixon, 58, who runs a sports leisurewear company and a TV shopping channel, testified that McQueen refused to believe she was childless.

Speaking at Perth Sheriff Court, Dixon stated that she had a single-night fling with McQueen around 1986, but he claimed they were together for two years. "I don’t have children. I’m not married. I don’t have a daughter," she told the court. "It was a constant barrage. It was nonsensical."

Olivia Dixon, 27, recounted being contacted by McQueen on TikTok. He responded to a post of hers by saying, "Well, the poor man has now," referring to himself as her father. She described the experience as "weirded out."

McQueen denied stalking Dixon, asserting he was attempting to "get the truth." The court heard that despite being warned off by Dixon, her solicitor, and the police, he continued his harassment for years. Fiscal depute Katie Stewart highlighted that McQueen sent over 2,800 emails and continued to persist despite Dixon's clear communication in 2015 that she did not want further contact and did not have his child. His messages escalated and became aggressive, threatening to travel to Bali and take her home.

Sheriff Jennifer Bain KC found the evidence presented by Heather and Olivia Dixon to be "wholly credible and reliable." In contrast, she deemed McQueen's testimony "almost entirely incredible and unreliable" and rejected it. The sheriff noted that McQueen engaged in a decade-long course of conduct, seeking a specific answer and intensifying his communications when it was not forthcoming.

McQueen was convicted of stalking Heather Dixon in Bali and Pitlochry, Scotland, between January 1, 2014, and September 5, 2025. He was also found guilty of repeatedly contacting Olivia Dixon and claiming to be her father. Sentencing has been deferred for social work reports, and McQueen was granted bail.
