Stacey Solomon has offered her followers a glimpse into the top floor of her new family home, embarking on a renovation and decorating journey.
Solomon, 36, revealed the top floor, accessible only by a ladder, via Instagram on Sunday night. The presenter shared images of spacious bedrooms, all painted yellow and featuring fireplaces that were once used to store coal. The upstairs also includes a bathroom with orange tiles, a feature Solomon expressed fondness for.
During the tour, Solomon and her children discovered several items left behind by the previous tenants. These included a vintage tennis racket, an old film camera, a riding hat, and a set of dominoes. Solomon described the discovery as a 'treasure hunt,' noting that the room appeared to have been used solely for storage.
She shared that an old TV from her childhood was also found in one room, sparking a nostalgic reaction. Solomon posted a video of the tour, captioning it with a request for fan opinions on the orange bath suite and the 1980s TV, and asking for advice on the dominoes' material.
The presenter also explained her decision to withhold images of the house's exterior, citing 'privacy issues' and security concerns following past 'issues at Pickle Cottage,' their former residence. Solomon stated that it is 'safer to just not show the building itself.'
Solomon and her husband, Joe Swash, 44, moved out of their previous home, Pickle Cottage, after falling in love with a new, larger property. The decision to move was described as significant, involving discussions with family, friends, and neighbors.
Solomon expressed excitement about taking on the new house as a 'huge renovation project.' She plans to take her time with the renovations, seeking inspiration and ideas from her followers. The couple's move was announced on Friday with a social media post featuring the family on their new doorstep, captioned: 'Home is wherever I’m with you… Pickle Project, Here We Go.'
Their new property is reportedly an eight-bedroom Victorian mansion with extensive grounds, including a pool and gardens. Solomon has mentioned plans to create a large vegetable garden and rescue more animals. Their chickens, ducks, and beehive have already been moved to the new home.
Pickle Cottage, their previous home, was a place of significant personal events for the couple, including the births of their daughters Rose and Belle, and their wedding. However, the desire for more land to accommodate additional animals and expand their vegetable cultivation led them to seek a new property. Solomon described the new house as a place where their family can continue to 'grow and really flourish.'
