Stacey Solomon Begins Extensive Renovations on £2 Million Essex Mansion

Stacey Solomon has commenced renovations on her recently acquired £2 million mansion in Essex, documenting the progress on social media. The television presenter, 36, shared updates showing the early stages of transforming the property, which she moved into with her family after leaving Pickle Cottage.

Bathroom Renovations Underway

In a series of Instagram stories, Solomon revealed that work has begun on the bathrooms. Notably, she enlisted the assistance of her 18-year-old son, Zach, and his father to help tile an en-suite bathroom. A video shared by Solomon showcased decorators plastering walls before revealing a newly tiled black shower, with Solomon specifically highlighting Zach's involvement. "This shower, he actually did the tiling with him and his dad together," she commented.

The family has also addressed access issues to the upper floors by constructing a temporary staircase, a significant improvement from their initial method of climbing a ladder.

Solomon also indicated a plan to embrace a bold color scheme in one of the bathrooms, inspired by a quirky bright orange bath set she discovered. She shared her decision to create an orange-themed bathroom, having found tiles that perfectly match the existing fixtures. "After the constant debate in my head... I have taken this as my sign to make an orange bathroom up here," she stated.

Glimpses of New Home Features

Earlier in the week, Solomon offered her followers a peek at other expansive features of the new residence, including a Grecian-style bathroom complete with a sauna and extensive walk-in wardrobes. The main bathroom boasts a large central tub and striking murals depicting classical figures.

"I love how crazy it is but I don't know whether to keep it as a bathroom..." Solomon mused about the unique bathroom design. She acknowledged the daunting scale of the renovation project, stating, "There is so much to do in this house and I've just got to take it slowly."

The walk-in wardrobe area is adjacent to the sauna, and Solomon mentioned her daughter Belle's suggestion to transform it into a "Beauty and the Beast room."

Home Office Plans

Solomon also detailed her plans for a dedicated home office space, a feature she lacked in her previous home, Pickle Cottage. The new office includes substantial built-in wardrobes and a marble fireplace. While she expressed enthusiasm for the existing wardrobes, planning to upcycle them, she noted the need to address electrical wiring issues and investigate a peculiar stone covering in front of the fireplace.

She also expressed admiration for the room's original coving, skirting, and industrial-style light fixtures, suggesting that the lighting could become a central design element for the space.
