A squirrel was observed taking a refreshing dip under a sprinkler as warm weather persisted. The animal was drawn to the area by hidden snacks before venturing under the spray of water.
Photographer Geert Weggen documented the squirrel's behavior in his garden in Bispgården, Sweden. Weggen, 57, stated that he had created a shower-like setup using a large animal bath, which some animals avoided while others embraced the water.
Makeshift showers were set up in the garden to help animals cope with the heat. The presence of food attracted the animals to the location.
The squirrel was photographed maneuvering under the water, ducking and diving. In one instance, the animal balanced on flower branches while another image shows it pressing its face against the sprinkler to cool off. The squirrel was also seen drinking water from the sprinkler.
