Sports Car Crosses Highway, Flips Truck in California Crash
Newly released California Highway Patrol footage shows the moment a sedan collided head-on with a truck, causing it to overturn.
Horrifying video captured by the California Highway Patrol shows the moment a sports car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck, causing the larger vehicle to flip. The incident occurred on September 9 around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 33 and Coalinga-Mendota Road in Fresno County.
The footage shows a white Acura sedan traveling along State Route 33 when it crossed the double yellow lines into the opposing lane. The sedan then struck a truck head-on that was pulling two gravel trailers.
The force of the impact caused the fully loaded truck and its trailers to lose balance and overturn, spilling gravel and diesel fuel onto the roadway. Dash-camera footage from a vehicle behind the truck captured the moments leading up to the collision.
Authorities reported that the driver of the Acura sustained major injuries, while the truck driver suffered minor injuries. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening.
