Spencer Pratt, a former Los Angeles mayoral candidate and reality television personality, has shared details from a recent visit to the White House, including a photograph of his son, Gunner, in the Oval Office.
Pratt posted an image on social media showing his 8-year-old son standing by then-President Donald Trump's desk, dressed in a suit and tie. In his post, Pratt drew a parallel between the unconditional love for a child and the love for one's country.
"You must love your country the way you love your child. Unconditional love," Pratt wrote. "You make sure they play by the rules. But no matter what, you love them with your whole heart, you wake up every day thinking about how to be of service to them, and you would die to protect them."
Pratt's visit to the White House occurred shortly after he announced the formation of the WAR Foundation. According to Pratt, the foundation aims to promote its message through "hard-hitting media, investigative research, educational campaigns, and strategic partnerships in government and media." It was officially filed with the California Secretary of State on June 24 by his campaign staffers Gabriel Mann and Briana Bilbray.
The foundation's stated goals include advocating for "transparency, accountability, and integrity in government and culture" using "innovative media." Pratt has stated that a lack of courage in leadership is a significant weakness in contemporary society.
Pratt ran a notable campaign for Los Angeles mayor, which gained national attention for its use of promotional materials, including some generated by artificial intelligence. He finished third in the June primary, behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and city councilmember Nithya Raman. Trump had reportedly encouraged Pratt to contest his primary loss.
The specific topics discussed during Pratt's meeting with Trump were not disclosed. Pratt is married to Heidi Montag, another television personality, and they have two sons together.
