Spencer Pratt has drawn a comparison between Jimmy Kimmel and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, reacting to comments made by Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, about their past office romance. Pratt, 43, shared his view via X, formerly Twitter, stating, "Isn’t this what Harvey Weinstein did?"

McNearney, 48, who is now the co-head writer for "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and married to the host since 2013, discussed the early days of their relationship on the "Armchair Expert" podcast. She recalled being "skittish" about dating Kimmel, who was her boss at the time, due to concerns about how it might affect her career. "I remember thinking, ‘Oh, no. This is a bad idea.’ He was my boss," McNearney said. "I just kept thinking statistically this is not going to work out and your life isn’t going to change but mine does. And that’s what freaked me out."

Kimmel, 58, admitted on the podcast that he "didn’t have that thought at the time." McNearney responded, "The person in power usually doesn’t."

She also expressed nervousness about how the relationship would alter the work dynamic in a room predominantly filled with men. "I was very nervous about it changing the work dynamic and I was in a room of mostly men and we had a great thing going on … and I didn’t want it to change," she said. The couple kept their relationship private initially and later married, eventually welcoming two children, daughter Jane, 12, and son Billy, 9.

Pratt's comparison comes as Weinstein, 74, is currently serving a 16-year sentence in California for forcible rape and other sex crimes. A New York conviction from 2020 was overturned in 2024, but he was sentenced in California in 2023. He was also convicted in a sexual assault retrial in Manhattan in 2024.

In a 2017 interview with New York magazine, Kimmel spoke out against Weinstein, stating he "couldn’t care less about" the movie producer and hoped the scandal would make others "think twice" before engaging in similar behavior. Kimmel's representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Page Six.
