Spencer Matthews, husband of Irish TV presenter Vogue Williams, shared a series of images on Thursday offering a glimpse of their newborn son and a 'bump to baby' journey. The couple, who announced the birth of their baby boy on Tuesday evening via Williams' Instagram, welcomed their fourth child earlier this week.
Matthews, 38, and Williams, 40, are already parents to sons Theodore, seven, and Otto, four, and daughter Gigi, six. The first image in Matthews' Instagram post showed Williams in her hospital room, sporting a sports bra and knickers with her baby bump visible. The subsequent photo depicted her walking in a park with the swaddled newborn, whose name has not yet been revealed.
Williams shared the initial birth announcement on Instagram, stating, "Our beautiful baby boy has arrived safely… The house is bursting with excitement, love and happiness and we couldn’t be more delighted." The post garnered congratulatory messages from notable figures including Holly Willoughby, Amanda Holden, and Zoe Ball.
The couple's decision to change the baby's name shortly before or after his birth added another layer to the announcement. Williams revealed on her podcast, "My Therapist Ghosted Me," that they had a last-minute change of plans regarding the name. Initially, they had intended to name the child Elvis, inspired by the rock and roll legend. However, Williams explained that "Spenny has been getting a few phone calls from family members regarding the name" and that she had not been "100 percent comfortable with it." While she expressed her love for the name Elvis, she also noted concerns about it being "such a big name to take on when you're little or trying to get a job when you're older," adding that they had "other very cool options."
Williams and Matthews tied the knot in 2018. The couple previously announced they were expecting their fourth child in April via social media. Despite past rumors of marital difficulties, including speculation surrounding their seventh wedding anniversary and Matthews's decision to step down from their joint podcast, Williams has maintained that they are a happy couple and their marriage is secure.
