The Spanish Royal Family convened for their annual reception at Marivent Palace in Majorca, with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia appearing alongside their parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. The event was attended by local authorities and dignitaries from the Balearic Islands.
This marked the second time the two young royals, aged 20 and 19, have attended the prestigious annual gathering. Princess Leonor, the heir to the throne, arrived arm-in-arm with her grandmother, Queen Sofia, 87. Queen Sofia wore a floral caftan, while Leonor opted for a two-piece orange and red ensemble by Spanish brand Thinking Mu, accessorized with gold sandals and an arm cuff. Her sister, Infanta Sofia, wore a pink, blue, and white floral maxi dress by Italian brand Momoni, cinched with a gold belt. Queen Letizia chose a cream midi dress, and King Felipe VI wore a blue shirt and dark trousers.
Last summer, Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor were filmed using sign language during the reception. Ana María Ruiz, president of the Mallorca Deaf Persons Association, who was among the guests, shared the video. Ruiz stated that she had the opportunity to teach the royals some basic signs. Sports figures like Rafa Nadal and Rudy Fernandez were also in attendance.
Previously, the Spanish Royal Family drew attention for their attire at the Princess of Girona Foundation Awards. Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia wore outfits in red, white, and blue, colors associated with the French flag, ahead of Spain's World Cup semi-final match against France. Queen Letizia wore a dark blue suit, Princess Leonor a red ensemble, and Infanta Sofia a white suit. Social media commentary at the time questioned the choice of colors.
