Spanian's Kebab Empire Faces Uncertain Future as Last Shop Struggles
The sole remaining Spanian's Kebabs location in Australia reports a significant drop in customers, raising questions about the influencer's business venture.
The last remaining kebab shop associated with YouTube personality Spanian is showing signs of struggle, with a recent four-hour period seeing only 15 customers, according to reports.
At the Spanian's Kebabs location in Kogarah, a suburb in southern Sydney, trade appeared slow on a recent Wednesday. In a four-hour window, just 15 customers were served. Experts suggest the business faces significant challenges to its survival.
The shop opened in March, drawing initial crowds, but subsequent trade has reportedly diminished. Some local residents have expressed resentment, noting that Spanian himself did not attend the launch, instead sending a cartoon mascot.
Suppliers familiar with the business have indicated that the franchise is experiencing difficulties. While trade saw a brief pickup around midday, it declined afterward, leaving peak evening hours as the traditional focus for kebab sales.
One customer, who had just been discharged from the hospital and was seeking a kebab, recalled knowing Spanian from a time when the influencer was incarcerated. The customer noted that Spanian had since transformed himself into a YouTube sensation.
Despite the apparent challenges, the packaging for Spanian's Kebabs products has been described as distinctive. However, a review of a beef kebab with garlic sauce noted that while it was substantial and visually acceptable, the beef itself did not taste particularly fresh after initial bites.
The Kogarah shop represents the sole remaining outlet for the Spanian's Kebabs franchise, indicating a significant contraction from its initial presence.
