Two earthquakes struck Southern California early Sunday morning, with shaking felt from San Jose to Walnut Creek. The first tremor, a 3.5-magnitude earthquake, occurred shortly after 7:20 a.m. Approximately 20 minutes later, a second, smaller earthquake with a magnitude of 2.6, followed.
The United States Geological Survey reported the seismic activity, which was felt across various communities in the South Bay region and extended further.
While the magnitudes indicate relatively minor seismic events, the dual occurrence prompted local attention to the geological activity in the region.
