Authorities in Southern California responded Tuesday to a slow leak from a chemical tank, which they quickly brought under control. The substance involved and the origin of the leak remain unknown, according to Kaitlyn Aldana, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Three individuals on site declined medical treatment. Social media posts depicted what appeared to be an orange haze or mist in the sky. La Habra Mayor Jose Medrano advised residents to shelter in place and stated that some streets were being evacuated. The affected area is located approximately 10 miles north of Anaheim and is characterized by a mix of residential neighborhoods and industrial warehouses.
