South Korea conducted a civil defense drill at a Seoul hotel on Wednesday as part of the country's annual Ulchi civil defense exercise. Approximately 240 personnel, including military, police, fire department, and local government representatives, participated in simulations of bomb, chemical, fire, and drone threats within the hotel setting.

This drill follows an announcement from South Korea and the United States that they will shorten their annual joint military exercises to five days from the usual eleven. The reduction in duration and scaling back of some field training activities stem from an order by U.S. President Donald Trump for a substantial decrease in American participation.
