South Carolina Mother Accused of Stabbing Children 50 Times
A Spartanburg mother faces attempted murder charges after allegedly inflicting severe injuries on her two young children.
A South Carolina mother, identified as Taylor Gosnell, 35, has been arrested and denied bond after allegedly stabbing her two children multiple times early Saturday morning. The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office reported that the children, aged 6 and 3, sustained approximately 50 stab wounds during the incident at their home.
According to WCBD News 2, the solicitor’s office stated in bond court that "some of the lacerations were so deep they cut to the bone." The 6-year-old child suffered particularly severe injuries and is reportedly facing the possibility of amputation of fingers and potentially an arm due to the severity of the wounds.
Gosnell has been charged with two counts of attempted murder. Deputies also obtained additional warrants for possession of a weapon during a violent crime, WIS 10 reported.
Both children were transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials expect them to recover from their injuries.
