Soraya Khashoggi's Anguish Over Grandson Estrangement
Soraya Khashoggi, formerly married to Saudi billionaire Adnan Khashoggi, is experiencing profound distress due to a nine-year estrangement from her grandson, Layth.
Soraya Khashoggi, the former wife of Saudi billionaire Adnan Khashoggi, is enduring significant emotional pain stemming from a nine-year period without contact with her grandson, Layth. Khashoggi stated that her daughter, Nabila, who is her only child with Adnan Khashoggi, has completely cut off contact and told one of her brothers to inform her mother that she is considered dead to her.
Layth, Nabila's only child from her second marriage to American billionaire Jim Cox Chambers, was eight years old when Soraya last saw him. Soraya expressed concern that her grandson is growing up with a distorted perception of her, potentially influenced by what Nabila tells him, and that he is unaware he has a living grandmother. Nabila, who reportedly married Chambers in 2004 and is described as a devout adherent of Scientology, has declined to comment.
Nabila, 64, was sent to Millfield School in Somerset during Lebanon's civil war. She previously attempted a film career and was married to Danny Daggenhurst, with whom she had a son named Spartan. There are reports that Nabila and Jim Cox Chambers are significant donors to the Church of Scientology, potentially exceeding the contributions of Tom Cruise.
Soraya Khashoggi, who was raised in a council house by her single mother in Leicester, has experienced other hardships, including fending off an abusive grandfather in her childhood. Her past included a life of jets, yachts, and high-profile relationships with figures like James Hunt, Warren Beatty, and Sir Sean Connery, facilitated by her ex-husband Adnan Khashoggi, known for his deal-making in oil, armaments, and property.
