Sophie Monk Discusses Fertility Journey and Past Financial Regrets

Sophie Monk, 46, has revealed that she and her husband, Joshua Gross, have "tried lots of times" to have a baby. In a candid interview, the 'Love Island Australia' host offered a glimpse into her hopes of becoming a mother, a subject she approaches with reluctance but holds close to her heart.

"It's hard because it's two of us," Monk said, referring to her and Gross's efforts. She added with a touch of humor, "I wish someone would just drop a baby off for me at the front door."

Monk has previously spoken about her fertility journey, including freezing her eggs in 2018 and undergoing another egg retrieval procedure on her 43rd birthday in December 2022. At the time, she shared an update from the hospital, stating, "And we got a lot which is great."

Gross, whom she married in March 2022, is described as her biggest source of support. Monk noted that he helps her maintain perspective on her working life, reminding her that challenges are "just a job" and providing her with increased confidence.

'It's hard because it's two of us,' she said of herself and husband Josh

She also discussed past financial missteps, admitting to having been "burned" by placing too much trust in others. "To trust people with your money. Unfortunately," she stated when asked about the most expensive lesson she has learned. Monk explained that she tends to trust people implicitly, a trait she acknowledges as a significant flaw that she has not yet overcome.

"I've never been good financially. I give it all away. That's my problem," she remarked, clarifying that her comments were general reflections on past experiences.

But we've tried lots of times,' she explained, before joking: 'I would wish someone would just drop a baby off for me at the front door'

Reflecting on her time with the girl group Bardot, Monk spoke about the emotional impact the band has had on her life and career. She revealed that she carried guilt over the group's collapse for years, which affected her relationship with music and her subsequent solo career. Monk also addressed recent events surrounding Bardot, including lingering tensions between members and claims made in a tell-all memoir that she disputes as "not true at all."
