Sophie Habboo has stepped down as co-host of her podcast "Wednesdays" to dedicate more time to her infant son, Ziggy. The announcement came as Habboo was seen enjoying a family outing in Notting Hill with her father, Patrique.
Habboo, who welcomed Ziggy in December with husband Jamie Laing, shared tearfully on a recent episode that she needed to prioritize motherhood. She has hosted the podcast with her friend Melissa Tattam since 2021.
"I've realised that I just need to prioritise my son and just spend as much time as I can with him," Habboo told listeners. "I just feel it's the right time for me to step away."
She expressed gratitude to her listeners and co-host, emphasizing that the podcast would continue with Tattam and new full-time co-host Ruby Adler. Habboo mentioned she plans to make guest appearances on the show in the future.
In a social media post, Habboo reiterated her decision, stating, "Since having my son Ziggy eight months ago I've had to balance being the best mum I can be and all my opportunities that I feel so grateful to have." She added that while sad to leave as a co-host, she was confident the podcast was in capable hands.
Habboo's decision reflects a growing conversation among public figures about balancing career demands with family life, particularly in the early stages of parenthood.
