Soho House to Launch Fourth NYC Location With First-Ever Integrated Gym
The new NoMad club, opening in early 2028, will feature a 20,000-square-foot wellness floor, including saunas, ice baths, and instructor-led classes.
Soho House is expanding its New York City presence with a fourth location in NoMad, set to open in early 2028. This new outpost will distinguish itself by featuring the club's first-ever integrated fitness floor in the city, a significant addition to its luxury member offerings.
The 20,000-square-foot Soho Health Club will span two floors and is designed to be a comprehensive wellness destination. Amenities will include saunas, ice baths, a hammam, instructor-led classes, and a smoothie counter for post-workout refreshments and socializing. A Soho House spokeswoman stated that the company is "really happy to finally make this happen and open a world-class Soho Health Club," responding to long-standing member requests for gym facilities.
The new club will be located in the historic Johnston Building at Broadway and West 28th Street, a landmarked Beaux-Arts tower built in 1903. This building previously housed the NoMad Hotel and is currently home to The Ned NoMad, a sister brand redeveloped by Soho House's design team. The decision to open in NoMad was influenced by the neighborhood's ongoing revival and its appeal to a creative demographic, as well as its accessibility for members across the city.
Soho House stated that its three existing Manhattan locations are housed in buildings that could not accommodate a fitness facility of this scale. The company had been actively seeking a new New York site for some time.
The first four floors of the building will be dedicated to the Soho House club. Plans include a club bar, a drawing room offering views of Broadway, a separate lounge and bar area, a pantry for late-night beverages, a secluded terrace, and a space for live performances.
Existing establishments at street level, including the restaurant Cecconi’s and the Little Ned wine and cocktail bar, will remain. The Ned will continue to operate its 120 hotel rooms across floors five through 12, available for public booking. Ned’s Club NoMad will also continue to operate independently.
Soho House emphasizes that the Soho House club and The Ned NoMad are distinct entities, each with its own entrance and members-only spaces, and that membership for one does not offer bundled pricing or discounts for the other.
Membership to the new NoMad club will be accessible through the Every House membership, which costs $6,000 and provides access to all New York City locations and over 50 Soho House clubs globally. Members typically designate a home club but can visit others, with each location maintaining its own unique events and menus.
This expansion follows a period of significant transition for the brand. Soho House recently returned to private ownership after a $2.7 billion take-private transaction, which saw Ashton Kutcher contribute equity and join the board. The announcement of the NoMad club also comes shortly after Soho House hosted its inaugural New York festival at Pier 17, featuring performances by artists such as Alanis Morissette and Questlove.
