Soccer Reporter Addresses Viral Interview and Coach's Reaction
Sabina Jaksova expresses surprise at global attention, notes coach Oulehla's wife was pleased.
Czech sports reporter Sabina Jaksova stated she was “pleasantly surprised” by the viral attention her interview with David Oulehla, coach of the Czech team FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem, received following the team's 3-2 loss to SFC Opava. A video of the interview, which featured Oulehla avoiding eye contact with Jaksova, garnered millions of views online.
In an interview with SunSport, Jaksova shared that Oulehla's wife, Lucie, was “pleased” with the widespread attention the video received. "David has very strong willpower, and we’re proud of him at the club. I didn’t notice him looking away, because I was concentrating on what he was saying," Jaksova remarked.
Jaksova noted her surprise at the interview's global reach, stating, “I’m used to attention, because FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem are one of the most followed clubs in the Czech Republic. People recognize me in my own country, and I am a popular presenter.” She added, “But I was pleasantly surprised that it spread like this beyond our borders.”
Addressing comments about her attire during interviews, Jaksova defended her fashion choices. “I don’t think I dress provocatively. Here in the Czech Republic, it’s normal for a woman to put on nice clothes and heels when she goes out and wants to look good. Entertainment is at the core of our marketing, and everything else is built around it. At Viagem, we believe football is like show business. I understand it would make some people happy if I was covered up, but on the other hand, I’d disappoint a lot of people too.”
Jaksova also mentioned the support she receives from her partner, boxing trainer Petr Petružálek, with whom she has two children. “My partner Petr and my family are a huge support to me. We have a lovely relationship full of love,” she said.
Jaksova previously detailed how she was directly approached by the Czech team for the presenter role. "The club’s management contacted me directly and made me the offer. I admit that I was happy and surprised at the same time. I thought about it for a while, but finally said: ‘Why not? I’ll try.’ However, I had no experience, so I learned everything along the way.”
