Sober Coach Reveals Grief After Presley Gerber's Death
Michael Healy speaks out for the first time since the model died hours after checking into a rehab facility.
Michael Healy, the sober coach who accompanied Presley Gerber to a Santa Monica rehabilitation facility, has described his profound grief and distress following the model's death. Gerber, 27, was found dead on September 20 at the Resolutions Living facility, hours after checking in.
Healy, 34, who has identified himself as an addiction and recovery expert, stated that he is "going through hell" in the wake of Gerber's passing. He revealed that he had been a longtime sober coach for Gerber, who had publicly acknowledged his struggles with drug addiction and mental health. In December, Gerber spoke about his medication for these issues.
Healy, who is himself a recovering addict and has spoken publicly about his own past battles, including periods of homelessness and drug use, has retreated from public view since Gerber's death. Friends have described him as devastated.
Dirk Eldredge, Healy's mentor and former employer, has strongly refuted any suggestion that Healy bears responsibility for Gerber's death, calling such claims "absolutely, positively false."
Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, had achieved success as a model, walking for designers like Prabal Gurung by 2018. His parents were reportedly desperate for him to receive help.
