So Delicious Frozen Dessert Recalled Nationwide Due to Foreign Object Contamination

So Delicious Dairy Free is voluntarily recalling its Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints nationwide due to potential contamination with foreign materials, including small stones and other hard objects. The recall was initiated after consumer complaints identified these foreign materials within the cashew inclusions.

The affected products are identified by SKU "136603" and UPC "744473476138," with best-by dates on or before April 3, 2028. Danone US, the parent company of So Delicious, announced the recall on Tuesday and is working with retail partners to remove the products from shelves. No other So Delicious Dairy Free flavors are included in this recall.

The recalled pints were distributed to retail locations across the United States, including major chains such as Target, Walmart, Meijer, and Kroger. Consumers who have purchased the affected product are advised to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Consumers with questions regarding the recall can contact the So Delicious Dairy Free Consumer Care Line at 1-833-367-8975 or submit an inquiry through the company's online contact form.

While the recall is specific to this product, overall food recall data indicates a trend of voluntary recalls initiated by manufacturers. As of August 18, the FDA had classified 860 food reports this year, a decrease from historical averages. Approximately 99% of these recalls were voluntary, with the FDA classifying them after the fact based on potential health hazards.
