Snoop Dogg performed a surprise private gig at a bar mitzvah shortly before appearing on stage with Jay-Z at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night, according to sources. The rapper, also accompanied by Dr. Dre, performed hits including “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang” and “Still D.R.E.” for an audience of approximately 80,000 fans during Jay-Z’s second night at the stadium. Too Short also made a guest appearance.
Sources indicated that Snoop Dogg wore the same attire for the bar mitzvah that he wore for his stadium performance. Videos from the private event were shared on social media by some attendees.
This is not the first time Snoop Dogg has performed at a bar mitzvah. In a 2023 interview with Latto for Rolling Stone, the rapper discussed the financial benefits of such private engagements, stating they can be more lucrative than stadium shows. He recounted performing for young children at a bar mitzvah where, despite the age group, he performed an explicit version of his music.
Snoop Dogg has previously commented on performing at bar mitzvahs. When asked by Andy Cohen on CNN's New Year's Eve special if he had ever gotten high at a bar mitzvah, Snoop Dogg responded affirmatively, stating, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, but that answer is gonna be yes, yes, yes!"
