Dash camera footage captured the moment a single-engine Cessna 177 crashed into the Capitol Expressway in San Jose, California, on Saturday.
The video shows the aircraft careening into an overpass arching atop the expressway.
The San Jose Fire Department (SJFD) announced that three people aboard the plane, including a child, suffered injuries. None of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.
"SJFD is on scene of a plane crash in the area of Capitol Expressway and Excalibur Dr.," the department stated in a post on X. "Small prop plane down, no vehicles involved. Two adults and one child transported with non-life-threatening injuries out of an abundance of caution. Please avoid the area."
The fire department also reported that the crash resulted in a minor fuel spill, which was contained.
Investigators from the SJFD, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are examining the incident to determine its cause. A spokesperson for the San Jose Police Department told KTVU that drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
