Slipknot has announced that they will "no longer be associated" with keyboardist and DJ Sid Wilson. The heavy metal band confirmed Wilson's departure in a statement that was briefly visible on the band's website and also appeared on the Instagram account for their festival, Knotfest.

"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson," the statement read. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

The announcement follows reports earlier this month that Wilson, 49, had been "kicked out" of the band after nearly three decades. An insider close to the band told TMZ that Wilson was informed of his permanent ousting on July 31, though the specific reasons for the fallout have not been publicly disclosed.

Wilson joined Slipknot in early 1998 as the ninth member to join the group as it expanded to its signature nine-member lineup. He was known for his distinctive gas-mask-inspired designs and high-energy stage performances. His departure marks a significant shift in the band's lineup, which has seen several changes over the years.

Most recently, drummer Jay Weinberg parted ways with Slipknot in November 2023. Before that, percussionist Chris Fehn was dismissed in 2019 following a legal dispute, and keyboardist Craig Jones exited in 2023 without a public explanation. Tragically, bassist Paul Gray died in 2010, and drummer Joey Jordison died in 2021 after leaving the band in 2013.

With Wilson's departure, the only remaining members from Slipknot's celebrated classic lineup are vocalist Corey Taylor, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, and guitarists Mick Thomson and Jim Root.

This year has also been personally challenging for Wilson, as he announced his separation from fiancée Kelly Osbourne in March. The couple had been engaged since 2025, when Wilson proposed at a Black Sabbath concert. Osbourne and Wilson share a three-year-old son, Sidney, named after his father.
