Skye Wheatley Claims Ex Lachlan Waugh Moved On, Calls Split 'Traumatic'
The 'Big Brother' star shared her struggles on Instagram, suggesting her ex has moved on quickly after their breakup.
Skye Wheatley has suggested her ex-boyfriend Lachlan Waugh has moved on with another woman following their recent split, describing the breakup as 'traumatic.' The reality television personality, 32, posted a series of Instagram Stories detailing her emotional experience.
Wheatley stated that she learned "uncomfortable" information about Waugh, which led to her feeling rejected. She compared the current situation to a previous breakup, expressing a sentiment that individuals "just move on with the next best thing." She shared an image of herself looking distressed, captioning it, "Self worth is actually on the floor going through this breakup. Going to start using Insta as a personal diary."
She elaborated on the emotional toll, writing, "I think I have so much trauma from my last breakup that was unhealed." Wheatley also noted that the rejection itself felt more painful than being informed that Waugh is with someone else. Wheatley shares two sons, Forest, seven, and Bear, five, with Waugh. She acknowledged their children as a positive outcome of the relationship, stating, "Just have to remember what I got out of the last relationship though, which was two beautiful boys. And for that I will always be so grateful."
Wheatley drew parallels between her current experience and a past relationship, describing both as traumatic and characterized by feelings of rejection and replacement. She reflected on these feelings potentially stemming from her own unhealed traumas and triggers, admitting she is unsure how to navigate them.
Waugh has not publicly commented on a new relationship. Wheatley also spoke about the challenges of parenting while feeling low, but found solace in spending time with her sons. "They honestly help me through it and if I didn't have them I would feel so alone," she said, adding that she has been isolating herself but finds company with her girlfriends and especially her sons.
Wheatley concluded her emotional series of stories by stating she felt "crippled" by the split and was struggling to work, a necessity she plans to address promptly. She apologized for her recent quietness on social media and expressed her intention to document her healing journey.
Wheatley and Waugh, who were together for eight years, appeared to have split for good earlier this year. The couple, who no longer follow each other online, have had previous breaks in their relationship. Wheatley had previously revealed on a podcast that they were taking a break while co-parenting their sons. She described it as the longest separation they had experienced.
The reality star explained that the pressures of work, raising young children, a home renovation, and running a business had strained their relationship. She mentioned that they would typically take short breaks to reset, but this separation was significantly longer. Wheatley became tearful discussing how close they had come to ending their relationship permanently and the difficulty of co-parenting while living under the same roof.
Rumors of a rift first surfaced in September of the previous year when fans noticed Wheatley had not posted about Waugh for over two months. The couple appeared to reconcile in January when Wheatley shared a video of them embracing at a party, though it now seems they have separated again.
