At least six people sustained injuries when a duck boat, a popular tourist vehicle in Boston, overturned Saturday at a Cambridge boat ramp near the entrance to the Charles River. State police confirmed that troopers and the Marine Unit responded alongside Cambridge police and fire departments to the incident.
Authorities reported that none of the passengers ended up in the water. The Cambridge Police Department classified some injuries as minor, while two were deemed "more serious." All individuals aboard the vessel were accounted for, according to Cambridge fire officials.
The replica World War II amphibious vehicle is operated by Boston Duck Tours, a company that has offered sightseeing tours of Boston's historical sites on land and water for more than three decades. The circumstances leading to the capsizing were not immediately clear.
Given that the incident occurred at the Charles River's entrance, the Massachusetts State Police will spearhead the investigation into the cause of the overturn.
