Six Flags Over Texas has introduced Tormenta: Rampaging Run, a new thrill ride billed as the world's first "giga dive coaster." The coaster, located in Arlington, Texas, reaches a maximum height of 309 feet, equivalent to the height of the Statue of Liberty.

The ride features a slow ascent to its peak height, followed by a three-second pause before a 285-foot drop. Riders can reach speeds of up to 87 mph, with the coaster also including two inversions. Tormenta: Rampaging Run was engineered by the Swiss firm Bolliger & Mabillard.

The name "Tormenta," Spanish for "storm," is paired with a rodeo theme and a mascot named Tormenta, a golden bull. The theme has drawn criticism from PETA, an animal rights organization, which stated the ride "glorifies the torment of bulls." Six Flags Over Texas has stated that no bulls were harmed in the creation of the ride.

General admission to Six Flags Over Texas ranges from $29 to $59. The park is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas.
