Janelle Brown, a star of the TLC series "Sister Wives," has introduced her new boyfriend, Pete, to her fans, approximately four years after her separation from Kody Brown.

Brown, 57, shared a selfie on Instagram on Tuesday that depicted her and Pete embracing in front of a creek. "Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared," she wrote in the caption to her over 1.4 million followers. "I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful."

She concluded the post by stating, "Everyone please meet Pete."

The public announcement of her new relationship comes after Janelle revealed in 2022 that she was parting ways with Kody Brown. Their spiritual marriage had lasted 29 years.

Janelle and Kody Brown exchanged vows in their spiritual marriage in 1993 and are parents to six children: Logan, Madison, Hunter, Gabriel, Savannah, and their late son Garrison, who died by suicide in March 2024 at age 25.

The reality star's new romance surprised fans, as she had previously made comments suggesting she intended to remain single after her split from Kody. During a 2023 reunion show, Janelle described the topic as complicated, as she navigated her faith and her personal life post-separation.

"I deeply believe in my faith. I have been so much at peace that I don't know how to reconcile that," she said at the time. "So that's where my debate with myself is all the time because I know I'm happy. I don't want him to come back, but my faith requires that we are married eternally."

In January 2024, she told People that she did not consider herself officially divorced from Kody, as they were never legally married. "I just say, 'I'm no longer with' [him] when I explain it to outside people," she explained. "I'm like, 'I'm no longer with my partner.'"

Last year, in an interview on the podcast "Sibling Revelry," Janelle indicated she was not actively seeking a relationship. "I'm not really interested in getting married again or even really dating at this stage," she said in February 2025. "So I'm not even thinking about, like, 'Oh, what do I need to do?' Because I'm just like, I am over [it]."

Janelle was the second of Kody Brown's wives to separate from him. Christine Brown ended her spiritual marriage to Kody the year prior and later married David Woolley in 2023. Kody and his wife Meri Brown parted ways in late 2022. He continues to be married to Robyn Brown, whom he legally married in 2014.

Following Janelle's announcement, she received numerous congratulatory messages in the comments section. Her former sister wife Christine Brown Woolley wrote, "He’s such an awesome guy!! They are so cute together and he’s a construction worker like David!!" A fan commented, "I’ve never been so happy for someone I don’t know! congrats!"
