Sister, Sister Cast Maintains Bond Through Group Chat
Marques Houston shares that he and co-stars Tia and Tamera Mowry are still in touch nearly 30 years after the show's finale.
Cast members from the beloved 1990s sitcom "Sister, Sister" continue to share a close bond, with actor Marques Houston revealing that he maintains contact with former co-stars Tia and Tamera Mowry through a group chat.
Houston, who portrayed the twins' eccentric neighbor Roger Evans, told The Daily Mail that he had spoken with the Mowry sisters just the day prior to the interview. "Yeah, just talk to them the other day, like yesterday," he stated at the premiere of the film "Forever, This Ring" in Hollywood last week. He confirmed the existence of a joint text thread, noting they were "just catching up."
"Sister, Sister" aired from 1994 to 1999, following the story of twins Tia Landry and Tamera Mowry-Housley, separated at birth and reunited as teenagers. Their blended family, brought together by their adoptive parents, became a staple on television for five years.
Since the show's conclusion, the cast has remained connected. In 2015, Houston appeared on Tamera Mowry-Housley's talk show "The Real," where they reminisced about their enduring friendship. Mowry-Housley recalled meeting Houston when they were both around nine years old, emphasizing that their friendship has continued throughout their lives. She also mentioned that Houston attended her wedding.
Houston shared in a 2022 interview with KTLA that the cast members continue to text and keep in touch, even as they have married and started families. At that time, he indicated plans for the group to get their families together for a hangout soon.
Beyond his "Sister, Sister" role, Houston has pursued a career in music as a former member of the R&B group Immature, and has since released multiple solo albums. He also has a notable acting career, appearing in films such as "You Got Served" and "Fat Albert."
Currently, Houston is starring opposite Taye Diggs in "Forever, This Ring," a psychological thriller. Houston also contributed to the film as a co-writer, inspired by a concept that "got his creative juices flowing."
