Sister Mourns Model Sahara Ray's Death at 34 from Overdose
Sahara Ray, Australian-American model and new mother, died from a fentanyl overdose. Her sister Ruby shared a heartfelt tribute, describing her as a 'force of nature.'
Model Sahara Ray, known for her swimsuit designs and past rumored links to celebrities, died on Friday from an overdose at the age of 34. Her sister, Ruby Ray, shared a poignant tribute on social media, describing Sahara as a vibrant soul whose absence has left the world "impossibly dimmer."
Ruby recounted looking up to her older sister, calling her "everything extraordinary about being human" and a "force of nature." She expressed the profound grief and emptiness left by Sahara's sudden death, noting the pain of having a lifetime of memories without future moments together. "God, grief hurts. It is the most excruciating, all-consuming pain I have ever been doused in," Ruby wrote.
The Australian-American model died from a fentanyl overdose, according to a source close to the model. The news comes just months after Sahara welcomed her daughter, Snow, in January. She had shared photos of her baby girl on Instagram as recently as July, referring to her as "my whole heart."
Sahara Ray's family confirmed her passing to TMZ on Monday, stating she died surrounded by family at the hospital and was "so loved."
Sahara, daughter of big wave surfer Tony Ray, first gained public attention in 2016 amid rumors of a relationship with Justin Bieber. She was also previously linked to model Jordan Barrett and singer Cody Simpson.
