Sir Ranulph Fiennes Reportedly Resides at Isolated Shropshire Farm

Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes is believed to be at his isolated farm in Shropshire, England, hidden behind a substantial security gate. The property includes modular homes assembled near the main residence, one for Fiennes and another for his carer. This development comes amid mounting speculation about the whereabouts of the 82-year-old adventurer, who suffers from Parkinson's disease and has not been seen in public for two years.

According to reports, Fiennes has been moved between several facilities over the past year. His wife, Louise Millington-Cotes, has reportedly taken steps to limit access to him, including requiring visitors to sign non-disclosure agreements at one establishment and instructing staff at another to ensure he did not socialize with other residents and wore a disguise when leaving his room. The owner of a Welsh care home described the instructions as something they "wouldn't do to an animal."

Concerns about Fiennes' welfare have been voiced by celebrity friends, including fellow adventurers Bear Grylls and Ben Fogle, who have called for police intervention. Cheshire Constabulary stated that no immediate safeguarding concerns had been identified at a recent care home in Crewe, but that any new information would be assessed.

The explorer's location in Shropshire was reportedly disclosed by his friend Michael Kobold, who was contacted by a source observing the new accommodation being erected. Kobold also stated that Lady Fiennes claimed her husband had a car accident which necessitated his wheelchair use and introduced his carer as a blacksmith.

Fiennes' stepson, Alex Millington-Cotes, who is estranged from his mother and has called for her lasting power of attorney over Sir Ranulph's affairs to be stripped, last saw the explorer in September 2024 at the Shropshire farmhouse. He reported a brief conversation and a hug with his stepfather.

Footage has also emerged showing a frail Sir Ranulph walking with assistance in what appears to be a stable or barn, with his wife directing him. In the video, Lady Fiennes is heard giving instructions and singing. Kobold shared this footage, calling the situation a "national disgrace" and expressing dismay at the system's perceived failure.

The Care Inspectorate of Wales reportedly found that Fiennes was being unlawfully deprived of his liberty due to a lack of authorization for his residence. King Charles III, a personal friend of Fiennes, has also reportedly taken an interest in the case, with his equerry being told to "back off" when contacting Lady Fiennes.
