Sir Cliff Richard Celebrates 86th Birthday
The iconic pop singer marked his birthday with cake and wine, sharing photos of his celebration on Instagram.
Sir Cliff Richard celebrated his 86th birthday on Wednesday, marking the occasion with cake and wine. The singer shared images of his celebration on Instagram, where he was seen in a snake print jacket.
In the photos, Richard is holding a glass of wine and blowing out candles on a cake. He captioned the post, "Thank you for all my amazing and thoughtful birthday wishes. I had a lovely day and celebrated with friends (& cake!)"
This celebration comes after Richard paid tribute to his late friend Cilla Black in the reveal of his 2027 calendar. The calendar features a shot of him standing at the back of a boat named ‘Cilla’. Richard and Black shared a close friendship for over 50 years and had holiday homes in Barbados where they spent time together.
The 2027 calendar also includes images of Richard in various locations, a postage stamp featuring him, and a shot of him with his autobiography. Richard noted, "My favourite pastimes are travelling and spending quality time with friends and the pictures in the 2027 calendar are a small snapshot of some wonderful times in May and June this year in various locations."
Sir Cliff has been releasing calendars since 1979 and they are estimated to have earned him over £2 million. His 2022 calendar was reportedly the best-selling music star calendar, surpassing Harry Styles'. In 2023, Richard announced he would no longer pose topless for his calendars, stating, "I suspect I have done my final topless photo for my annual calendar... it's time to gracefully exit the Chippendales market."
