A sinkhole measuring approximately 30 feet wide opened up outside actor Nicolas Cage's Malibu residence following heavy rainfall in Southern California. The incident began forming on Monday, with nearby residents initially informed of an 8-foot sinkhole.
However, the ground continued to collapse into the early hours of Tuesday morning, creating the larger crater. The sinkhole consumed a significant portion of the home's driveway, leaving behind broken asphalt, concrete, and construction debris. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene due to a subsequent gas leak caused by the structural failure. SoCalGas has since confirmed that the leak has been secured.
