Singer Ella Langley Faces Backlash Over Resurfaced Hunting Photos

Country singer Ella Langley is facing criticism online after a collection of her past hunting photographs resurfaced.

Langley, 27, who is known for her hit song 'Choosin', has shared multiple images on her social media accounts over the years depicting her with various animals she had hunted. One photograph, posted to Facebook in November 2018, shows Langley and her younger sister holding the head of a deceased deer. Another image from February 2020 shows her posing with a harvested buck on an ATV, accompanied by a caption that read, 'Not my biggest buck, but a wild story we'll remember forever.' Additional photos, taken in Alabama, include one from December 2021 where Langley, dressed in camouflage, is seen gripping the antlers of her kill, captioned, 'Finally put one down this afternoon.'

The resurgence of these images has drawn a strong reaction from some online users, particularly those who are critical of hunting or unfamiliar with country music traditions. One user on X (formerly Twitter) shared a selection of the photos, describing Langley as a "disgusting industry plant" and questioning her sudden rise to chart success. Another commenter expressed hope that she would "address it and learn from the past," while a third simply stated, "She's disgusting."

However, many others have defended Langley, with some praising her as a "real deal American girl" and expressing increased support for her music. Supporters have characterized hunting as a "wholesome sport" that allows for spending time with family and friends while also obtaining food. Critics of the backlash have labeled Langley a "true patriot" and urged detractors to "Get a life! There is nothing wrong with this."

The photographs remain visible on Langley's social media profiles. Representatives for Ella Langley have been contacted for comment.

This incident echoes a similar controversy involving fellow country artist Riley Green, who also faced backlash in November after sharing images of himself with a large buck he had hunted, accompanied by the caption, 'That was a hell of a drag out… blessed to be back out here #weouthere #bowhunting #bigboy.' Green's post also divided opinion among his followers.
