Singer Cara Claims Assault Over Fashion Week Seat

Singer Cara has claimed she was assaulted during Bibhu Mohapatra's fashion show at New York Fashion Week, alleging that a dispute over a front-row seat escalated into a physical confrontation.

According to a witness cited by Page Six, organizers initially directed Cara to a seat that belonged to another attendee. This reportedly led to an argument, with the seat's owner insisting it was hers. The witness described the situation as escalating, with one woman allegedly "dug her nails into Cara and physically pulled her out of the seat."

Cara corroborated the account, stating that the incident "got physical" and resulted in a bruise on her arm, which she attributes to the other woman's nails. "It's Fashion Week, not a fight club!" Cara told Page Six. "If there's an issue over a seat, you let the staff handle it. You don't put your hands on someone over a front row seat. It's simply not that serious."

However, another onlooker present at the event described the incident as "ridiculous" and claimed there was "no assault or [physical] altercation."

The woman accused of assault spoke to Page Six anonymously, offering a different perspective. She stated, "I noticed it getting a little heated [between her and the other woman], and I just touched her very lightly [to assure her it’ll get sorted]. I was trying to be helpful and she shrieked she was being assaulted!"

Cara recounted that the other woman eventually moved to a different seat, resolving the immediate conflict. She expressed frustration, saying, "Next time I'll just watch online."

The singer stated that she attended Frederick Anderson's show the following day wearing long sleeves due to the alleged bruise. A representative for Bibhu Mohapatra's show declined to comment on the incident.
