Simu Liu Weds Allison Hsu in Romantic French Ceremony
The 'Shang-Chi' star and digital marketing director tied the knot over the weekend in France.
Marvel actor Simu Liu has married his longtime girlfriend, Allison Hsu. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend in France, according to reports.
Liu, 37, known for his role as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Hsu, 30, a digital marketing director, have been dating since 2022. Their engagement took place in Paris in May 2025, with Liu proposing with a diamond ring estimated to be worth over $100,000.
Hsu, a UCLA graduate and digital marketing executive at Interscope Records, recently shared details of her bridal shower, which was celebrated in Tulum, Mexico. Photos from the event showed her wearing a veil embroidered with "bride to be."
Liu previously described Hsu as his "favorite person in the world," expressing his happiness and the supportive nature of their relationship in a 2023 interview with People magazine. He noted that their relationship feels like a "Benson Boone song," characterized by its vibrancy and high notes.
The actor also shared how Taylor Swift played a role in their engagement. He recounted reaching out to Swift through her publicist to ask her to record a brief congratulatory video for Hsu, a longtime Swift fan. Swift sent a video message two days later, which Liu played for his fiancée during the proposal.
Liu and Hsu are also pet parents to Chopa, a dog Liu rescued in 2021. The couple has shared highlights of their relationship, including trips to Coachella, Peru, and Toronto.
Friends and colleagues, including MCU co-star Florence Pugh and musicians John Legend and Ken Jeong, have offered congratulations on social media.
