Simone Biles Surprises in London for Husband's NFL Game After Stating She Wouldn't Attend
The gymnastics champion appeared in custom attire to support Jonathan Owens and the Indianapolis Colts against the Washington Commanders.
Simone Biles made an appearance in London to support her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, as his team, the Indianapolis Colts, faced the Washington Commanders. The Olympic gymnast was seen on the sideline before kickoff at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, sporting a custom outfit designed to honor Owens.
Biles' presence in London comes just days after she had stated she would not be traveling to her husband's away games this year. "Last year was the first year I went to every single game," Biles told US Weekly. "That was really hard. I wanted to be there and show up because he shows up for me."
She explained that attending every game last season was demanding, and this year she plans to stay home to focus on her own training and commitments, allowing her husband to focus on his career. "I will not be traveling to away games this year," she added. "Baby, I'm going to stay at home this year so I can still work those [road] weekends."
Owens, who signed a one-year deal with the Colts in March after previous stints with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers, plays a significant role in the NFL's International Series games. Biles noted the responsibilities that come with attending his games, including managing family and friends, which can add to her schedule.
"When we have family and friends coming in to watch Jonathan at the games, that's my scheduling," she said. "Keep them entertained so that Jonathan and still do his recovery and get to practices on time and relax as much as possible."
The couple, who primarily reside in Texas, are planning to relocate to Indianapolis after the NFL season. Biles has expressed excitement about experiencing the city and supporting Owens, prioritizing his safety, health, and enjoyment of the game above all else.
Prior to her trip to the UK, Biles had watched the Colts' recent Sunday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs from home. She arrived in London for the international game, showcasing her continued support for Owens and his NFL career.
