Shoppers Spot Alleged Nazi Symbolism on Barbie Doll Packaging

A recent discovery on Barbie doll packaging has sparked controversy, with shoppers alleging the presence of Nazi symbolism. The concern was first raised by a TikTok user who shared a video from a retail store highlighting what she described as troubling imagery on a doll from Mattel's "You Can Do Anything" range.

The user pointed to the background of the packaging, which depicted a crowd of figures. In the blue-toned image, the figures appeared to be raising their arms at an upward angle with straight hands, a gesture that some viewers likened to the Nazi salute. The TikTok post also featured a German marching song, "Far Is The Road Back To The Homeland."

Viewers reacted to the video in the comments section, with many expressing shock and agreement that the imagery resembled the salute. Some called for a boycott of Mattel, questioning how such a detail could appear on a product intended for children.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Mattel for comment regarding the observed imagery.

In unrelated news, the Barbie brand recently released a doll immortalizing tennis legend Serena Williams, dressed in her 2005 Australian Open-winning attire. The doll, complete with a sweatband, racket, and tennis shoes, was launched ahead of the International Day of the Girl. Mattel stated that the doll celebrates Williams as a "tennis legend and global icon whose influence extends far beyond the court," embodying Barbie's message of empowering girls to believe they can achieve anything.
