Shocking Arena Tunnel Footage Shows NBA Star Isaiah Stewart Punching Rival
Surveillance video captures the moment Isaiah Stewart struck Drew Eubanks before a 2024 game, leading to his arrest and suspension.
Shocking surveillance footage has emerged showing NBA star Isaiah Stewart punching rival Drew Eubanks in an arena tunnel prior to a game between the Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns on February 14, 2024.
Stewart was arrested at the arena for assault, issued a citation, and released shortly after the incident. Eubanks played in the game later that day.
The video, obtained by Fox 10 in Phoenix, shows Stewart walking down the tunnel toward Eubanks. As the two players met, Eubanks appeared to bump his shoulder into Stewart. The players exchanged words before Stewart threw a punch that landed on Eubanks' chin.
Stewart then shoved Eubanks backward and assumed a boxing stance before arena staff intervened. Eubanks later alleged that Stewart had "sucker-punched" him, resulting in minor facial injuries.
The NBA investigated the altercation and suspended Stewart for three games without pay. The Phoenix Suns issued a statement calling the attack "unprovoked" and "unacceptable."
Both players have since moved to different franchises. Stewart was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies after a five-year tenure with the Pistons. Eubanks, who played for the Sacramento Kings, signed with the New York Knicks.
This incident follows a previous altercation in January 2025, where Stewart received a flagrant-two foul and was ejected for shoving Thomas Bryant during a game between the Pistons and the Indiana Pacers. After his ejection, Stewart appeared to make a gun gesture towards Pacers players.
Stewart stated after the 2025 game that he had been provoked by trash talk from opposing players, admitting he "slipped up, fell for the trap, and I let my teammates down."
