Shivon Zilis Reveals Abrupt End to Relationship with Elon Musk
Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis confirmed her split from Elon Musk, stating he ended their relationship "with no warning" days after expressing affection.
Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis revealed that she and Elon Musk recently ended their relationship, with Musk reportedly breaking ties "with no warning." Zilis confirmed the split in a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday.
"It's hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that's just how it is sometimes 🤷🏻♀️," Zilis wrote. She expressed gratitude for having provided Musk with a sense of deep understanding, nurturing, and peaceful love, contrasting it with his "often tortured soul" and "tumultuous nature" of his early life.
Zilis stated that she and their four children—twins Strider and Azure, born in November 2021; daughter Arcadia, born in early 2024; and son Seldon Lycurgus, born in February 2025—served as a "safe space" for Musk. She described their home as a place of "happiness and love, not war," where he could "recharge his heart and soul before heading back out" from his "militant existence."
"I loved being that counterbalancing place of safety, sense of calm and love — and delighted in bringing a smile back to his face when he was down. I will miss him dearly," she added. Zilis also shared that she loved Musk "more than life itself" and that he had taught her "100 lifetimes of knowledge," leading to a profound sense of loss following their breakup.
Despite the heartbreak, Zilis emphasized her gratitude for their children, calling them "the four beautiful, little loves of [her] life." She expressed hope for a future of friendship and co-parenting. "I'm hurting but care deeply about E and will always be cheering for his happiness. Godspeed, Elon. The world is lucky to have you,” she concluded.
Included in her post was a screenshot of a text exchange from a week prior, where Zilis wrote to Musk, "It was really wonderful to see you for breakfast. Love you very much 💕." Musk replied, "Love you too," and explained that he had not realized a dinner event he attended, which included President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, would preclude her attendance.
Previously, Musk's first wife, Justine Musk, also spoke about their marriage in the documentary "Musk," stating she felt "insignificant" and learned the term "gaslighting" through their relationship, alleging he "constantly remark[ed] on the ways he found me lacking." Justine and Elon Musk share five children: twins Griffin and Vivian, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, along with their late son Nevada Alexander.
