Actor Shia LaBeouf was observed visiting a Los Angeles dispensary on Friday. The 40-year-old actor, who recently celebrated his birthday with girlfriend Nicole Mumphrey, appeared solemn during the outing. LaBeouf was seen carrying a brown paper bag as he departed the establishment.
In June, LaBeouf pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of battery stemming from a February altercation at a New Orleans bar. He received a two-year probation sentence, which includes requirements for alcohol abuse rehabilitation, sensitivity training, and anger management classes. According to People magazine, following his February arrest, LaBeouf was initially released on his own recognizance but later required to post a $100,000 bond. An additional bond was set for a second charge, and a third battery charge was later added.
LaBeouf's attorney, Sarah Chervinsky, stated that police and District Attorney investigations confirmed LaBeouf's account of the incident as a "minor Mardi Gras bar tussle," with no evidence of bias or prejudice, resulting in low-level misdemeanor charges. Chervinsky added that LaBeouf took accountability and is now focused on family, work, and creative projects.
LaBeouf relocated to New Orleans, where he has family ties, following his split from his wife, Mia Goth, with whom he shares a daughter. In a February interview, LaBeouf stated he moved due to failing his marriage and needing to own that responsibility.
