Shanna Moakler has addressed a viral social media comment she made about Kourtney Kardashian and her ex-husband Travis Barker's children. Moakler, who was married to Barker from 2004 to 2008, posted and then deleted a TikTok comment that read, "Where are her children?" shortly after images circulated of Barker attending the premiere of his documentary "Louder than Fear" with Kardashian and their blended families.
Moakler told the Daily Mail that there is "no major story here" and that she frequently posts and deletes content on social media. She indicated that she will share her full story in her upcoming memoir, "Queen Risen."
"In due time, I'll be sharing my story in my own words through my book and I'm looking forward to that," Moakler stated. She added that her agency is presenting the memoir to publishing houses but that she is open to self-publishing. The book is intended to cover subjects including her past relationship with Oscar De La Hoya and her marriage and divorce from Barker. Moakler emphasized that the memoir is not about "tearing anyone down" but about "owning my story and hopefully showing other women that you can always rise again."
Moakler and Barker share two children, Landon, 22, and Alabama, 20. Barker also helped raise Moakler's daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 27. At the "Louder than Fear" premiere, Barker was accompanied by Kardashian, Atiana, Landon, and Alabama. Absent were Kardashian and Barker's young son Rocky, and the three underage children Kardashian co-parents with Scott Disick.
During the early stages of Kourtney Kardashian's relationship with Travis Barker in 2021, Moakler engaged in public disputes with the Kardashian family. At that time, she accused the Kardashians of "destroying my family" and leaving her "alienated" from her children. Moakler also alleged that Barker had an affair with Kim Kardashian during their marriage, a claim Kim Kardashian's representatives denied.
In response to the public feud in 2021, Moakler stated, "My family's broken because of this family and now my kids and I are alienated from each other because of another sister in the family." She also commented on co-parenting, noting, "We just had dinner with our kids and all their friends three weeks ago. So, you know, this has all started since my ex started dating a certain person."
Moakler's daughter Alabama publicly criticized her mother in 2021, accusing her of being an absent mother and claiming to have gone seven months without contact. Alabama also alleged that Moakler's then-boyfriend, Matthew Rondeau, was unfaithful and mistreated her mother. Rondeau denied infidelity at the time, stating Moakler was an "amazing mother."
Moakler and Rondeau had a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship that included a domestic battery arrest for Rondeau in early 2022, though the charges were later dismissed. Moakler confirmed their final breakup in January 2023.
In June 2023, Kourtney Kardashian announced her pregnancy with Barker. In the following month, Moakler adopted a more conciliatory tone regarding the Kardashians, telling Page Six, "I have my own personal reasons for not liking the Kardashians... but as long as he's happy [and] as long as they are good to my kids, that's all I care about."
Moakler, who has launched a wellness brand called Hello Foxi, announced the completion of her memoir "Queen Risen" six months prior to her recent comments. A source previously told the Daily Mail that the autobiography would include "digs here and there" and discuss her marriage to Barker and his relationship with Kardashian.
