Actor Shane Richie has pleaded not guilty to a charge of drink-driving. The court heard that Richie was arrested at a petrol station forecourt in Church Langley Way shortly before 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

He was taken to a police station in Harlow and subsequently charged with having 65 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which is almost double the legal limit, according to prosecuting solicitor Vladmir Silea.

The charge sheet indicates Richie was driving a Hyundai IX35 GDI style 2WD after consuming alcohol in excess of the prescribed limit.

Richie, 62, was granted unconditional bail. His solicitor issued a statement confirming that Richie is not commenting on the matter due to active criminal proceedings and requested that his privacy be respected while the court process unfolds.
