Shane Gillis Returns to Host 'SNL' for Third Time
The comedian will host Saturday Night Live on October 11, marking his third appearance since his controversial 2019 departure.
Shane Gillis is set to host "Saturday Night Live" for the third time on Saturday, October 11. His return to the NBC sketch comedy show comes after the recent release of his Netflix sitcom "Tires" and ahead of his appearance in the "Madden" biopic in November.
Gillis's history with "SNL" has been marked by controversy. He was hired as a cast member in 2019 but was quickly fired after resurfaced videos showed him using racial slurs. Despite this, he has since returned to host the show, with this upcoming hosting gig being his third in four seasons.
Spanish popstar Rosalía will join Gillis as the musical guest, making her third appearance on "SNL." The episode is scheduled to air live coast-to-coast at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. Viewers without cable can access the live broadcast through a five-day free trial of DIRECTV's Choice plan, which includes NBC. Alternatively, "SNL" episodes are available on Peacock Premium, which offers a seven-day free trial.
This season, "Saturday Night Live" has expanded its cast with two new hires. The show has also announced its schedule through the end of 2026, with hosts and musical guests for upcoming episodes to be confirmed.
