A convicted sex offender, Simon Levy, is accused of raping one woman and murdering two others during an eight-month period last year. The surviving victim testified at the Old Bailey, recounting a January 2025 attack where she feared she would die.
The 35-year-old sex worker, whose name is withheld, told the court that Levy approached her for "business." She described him as "evil" after he allegedly jumped on her with his full weight, breaking her collarbone, and then raped her.
"I was kicking my legs under him and I am fighting for my life," the victim told the court, recounting how Levy allegedly put his hand over her mouth and on her neck. "I think I am going to die. I could not breathe."
She lost consciousness during the assault and awoke about ten minutes later to find Levy had fled the scene. She later identified Levy in an identity parade.
Authorities arrested Levy in March of last year following the discovery of the body of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in a disused block of flats in Southwark. A pipe with Levy's blood and his DNA were found on the victim. However, Levy was released by police after the cause of her death was deemed "unascertained."
Four months later, Levy allegedly killed Sheryl Wilkins, 39, leaving her body in the same location as the earlier rape attack, which is near the defendant's home. Wilkins was found with 83 injuries to her face, head, upper body, arms, and legs. The prosecutor suggested her death could have been caused by smothering, neck compression, or chest compression.
Prosecutor Tom Little KC described Levy as a "predatory serial attacker" who has already been convicted of 13 sex assaults over a seven-year period. He stated that six of those attacks occurred around the time of the rape and the first murder.
Levy denies two charges of murder, two charges of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and non-fatal suffocation. He claims he had consensual sex with both women. The trial is ongoing.
