Seven Face Terror-Related Charges Over Vandalism at Trump Resort
Suspects accused of damaging Donald Trump's Turnberry golf resort with political slogans and weed killer.
Seven individuals are scheduled to stand trial on a terror-related charge following vandalism at U.S. President Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort. The suspects are accused of causing ‘malicious mischief’ during a protest at the Ayrshire resort on March 8, 2025.
Prosecutors allege the offense will be proven under Section 31 of the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008, with the charge aggravated by a ‘terrorist connection.’ The group is accused of digging up turf on the golf courses, spraying the weed-killer Glyphosate on fairways and greens, and painting or scoring political slogans on the grass, a building, walls, and pillars. The indictment also states that damage to a sprinkler system resulted in flooding, and a light was broken.
Kieran Robson, 35, Uzma Bashir, 56, Ricky Southall, 34, Autumn Ward, 23, Rebecca Sian Davies, 29, John Moxley, 58, and Dylan Chiaramello, 25, are named in the charges. Robson, Bashir, and Davies face an additional charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice, accused of driving to Turnberry in vehicles with fake number plates to conceal their movements after the alleged crime.
Robson was reportedly on bail at the time of the incident from Edinburgh Sheriff Court. The case against all seven individuals was heard at the High Court in Glasgow, where defense lawyers entered not guilty pleas on their behalf. A trial has been scheduled for February 14, 2028, in Glasgow and is expected to last 15 days. A further hearing is scheduled for March 2027.
Robson, Bashir, Southall, Ward, Davies, Moxley, and Chiaramello remain on bail. Outside the court, a pro-Palestine demonstration took place, with attendees waving flags and displaying banners, one of which read: ‘Yes it is a genocide.’
Donald Trump purchased the Turnberry resort, which includes the Ailsa Course that has hosted The Open Championship four times, in 2014. He also owns the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire.
