Simon Levy, 40, has been sentenced to life in prison without release after being found guilty of murdering two women and raping a third. The judge at the Old Bailey handed down the whole life order on Wednesday, stating Levy had a "morbid fascination" with sex.
Levy killed Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in March 2025 and Sheryl Wilkins, 39, five months later. He also raped a third woman earlier in 2025 in the same Tottenham car park where Wilkins was later discovered dead.
The sentencing follows an apology from the police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) concerning decisions that allowed Levy to remain free while carrying out the attacks. At the time of the offenses, Levy was on bail and under the monitoring of the Met police.
The police watchdog is currently investigating the management of Levy's case over a four-year period, beginning from his first conviction for sexual assault in September 2021 until his final arrest in September 2025.
Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley described the handling of Levy's case as a "whole system failing."
