Serial Cat Killer Apprehended in Florida After E-bike Attack Caught on Camera

Authorities have intensified their search for a suspect in a series of stray cat killings in Palm Beach County, Florida, following the release of surveillance footage showing the man shooting a cat from an e-bike. A reward of $10,000 is now being offered for information leading to the suspect's identification and arrest.

The incident captured on camera occurred late at night in a parking lot near the Sunshine Flea Market in West Palm Beach. The footage shows an individual wearing a headlamp, dismounting an e-bike, aiming a handgun at a cat, firing, and then quickly leaving the scene.

Officials believe the suspect is responsible for the deaths of at least a dozen stray cats in the area. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the killings since August, when reports of cats found dead with gunshot wounds began to surface near the flea market. Animal Care and Control was alerted to the escalating incidents.

One of the animals, a cat named Zoe, is the sole known survivor of the attacks. She is currently recovering at Furry Friends Humane in Jupiter after undergoing an amputation of her leg due to the gunshot wound. "Zoe is frightened and in pain," Jason Gluck, CEO of the rescue organization, stated.

Furry Friends Humane initially offered a $5,000 reward for information. A concerned supporter later contributed funds, doubling the reward to $10,000. "We’re asking everyone who sees this video to really look at it and share it," Gluck urged. "The person who recognizes this person could be the person who helps bring them to justice."

Investigators have used the surveillance footage to generate an image of the suspect, though he has not yet been publicly identified.
